    The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement qualification is for learners aged 19 and above.

    This qualification is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (for example a workshop, classroom or other training environment).

     

    Entry Requirements

    You need to demonstrate competency in order to enroll for this course. Competency is demonstrated by having qualifications or experience in the subject area you want to assess. You will need to be working within an educational environment and have access to two learners who you need to assess using a range of methods such as observation, questioning, observation of work products. The learners who you will be assessing do not need to be enrolled on a formal qualification but a learning programme with a clear assessment criteria and opportunities to assess using a range of assessment methods including those highlighted above. This could be learners on a course or workers on an in-house course that has a clear structure, learning outcomes and can be assessed by prior learning, observation of practice and work products, questioning and discussions.

    As the course is delivered online you are expected to have access to the internet,computer and a word processor that can open and produce Microsoft Word Documents ending with the extension ‘.doc’. Candidates without Microsoft office are advised to consider open software such as Open Office. You however need to ensure your documents are saved and submitted for assessment as word documents ending with the extension ‘.doc’?

     

    Structure

    The aim of this course is to assess the candidate assessor’s performance in assessing vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in work environments. In order to gain the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement you will need to complete a portfolio of evidence addressing the following mandatory units.

    Unit 1 Understanding the principles and practices of assessment 3 Credits Unit 2 Assess occupational competence in the work environment 6 Credits Unit 3 Assess vocational skills,knowledge and understanding 6 Credits

    The course is delivered online and you will be required to obtain two candidates, with whom you will undertake 4 assessments.

     

    Assessment

    Trainee assessors are expected to demonstrate knowledge of assessment. They will also be expected to carry out a minimum four assessments that examine the skills , knowledge and understanding of your two candidates. The assessments should include checking prior learning, observation of practice and work products, questioning and discussions. You are free to use any other appropriate additional assessment methods. Please note simulation is not allowed.

     

    Duration

    The course has a 84 guided learning hours requirement. This means that you are expected to demonstrate that you have been supported by staff from Active Health Group for at least 84 hours.

    You are usually expected to complete the course within 6 weeks from enrollment. We however give you an additional 12 weeks if you fail to complete during the normal duration.

    Cost

    £450.00. You can pay in full, with a 10% discount, or pay a £150 deposit and two further monthly payments of £150. Certificates will not be issued until course fees are paid in full.
