Level 4 Sports Massage and Soft Tissue Therapy
The main aim of the ITEC/VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy is to enable learners to gain the necessary practical skills and knowledge to provide Sports Massage Therapy to the general public, gain employment within the sport and fitness industry and to enrich Practitioners’ understanding of advanced anatomical, physiological and pathological principles relevant to the application of Sports Massage. It includes roles such as restorative and corrective massage using a range of basic and advanced techniques. Practitioners will also learn how to plan and evaluate Sports Massage treatments to inform the provision of future treatments.
To ensure our graduates are 'ahead of the game' within the Sports Massage industry, we go above and beyond the normal Sports Massage syllabus and include a wider range of myofascial and soft tissue techniques.

Course fees can be paid with a £400 deposit, and equal, interest-free monthly instalments over the duration of the practical training. You will also need to complete VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Complementary Therapies and Sports Massage. We offer this as an online course.
SCOPE OF QUALIFICATION (PRACTICE)
At level 4, a Sports massage therapist’s role includes planning, providing and evaluating sport massage treatments. Treatments in context: sports massage can be carried out for pre, post, inter, maintenance, restorative and corrective purposes (focus on muscle and paratendon pathologies), using a range of basic and advanced massage techniques.
Scope of practice includes working on dysfunctional tissue, postural issues and on recent non-acute injuries or with pre-existing conditions.

In addition to the course dates below, 2 additional days will be required for skills consolidation and VTCT exam/assessment, once all the home study and 100 hours case studies have been completed. The Level 4 course consists of 14 days in class, plus two additional consolidation and assessment days. In addition to this you will be required to attend approximately 40 hours of online Zoom theory lessons*, and obtain 100 hours of case studies (many of which completed in our student clinic). There is also approximately 300 hours of home study on our online classroom to complete. (You will need access to the internet, and a PC or Laptop with Word/PDF reader). Total Qualification Time: 560 hours - this meets the standard for CNHC Sports Massage Registration). *We have a flexible online schedule to support our learners.
