AHG LEVEL 5 ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN SPORTS THERAPY & REHABILITATION
WHY LEVEL 5 AT ACTIVE HEALTH GROUP?
Often seen as an alternative to an NHS Physiotherapist which focuses on neurology, geriatric, pediatric and respiratory, a Sports Therapist will specialise in Musculoskeletal conditions, including – but not limited to – sports injuries, back pain, posture, and joint issues. Following the increasing demand for Sports Massage, Musculoskeletal and Sports Injury services, and the growing NHS waiting list, AHG has built a unique Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation, which also expands to the field of rehabilitation.
Unlike most courses on the market, AHG’s Level 5 is covering no less than 19 National Occupational Standards, while being highly practical. We are committed to Excellence and expect the same from our students. Thus, we expect them to study theory at home to be able to focus on hands-on cases in class. We are proud to be one step ahead and to offer our students the sum of over 20 years of teaching experience and of constant research, including Evidence-Informed Research based In our busy on-site clinic, as well as recognised resources such as the British Journal of Sports Medicine; Journal of Athletic Training and Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies, etc.
AHG teaches unique skills to a wide variety of students with diverse backgrounds. Joining AHG after a Degree in Sports Therapy or a BTEC Level 5 in Sport & Remedial Massage/Soft Tissue Therapy and even Physiotherapy is everything but a backward step as our teaching methods are unique. Furthermore, most of our Sports Massage students choose to pursue further training in Sports Therapy, understanding that employment and earnings options are much greater.
No experience in therapy or fitness? That's fine too! We pride ourselves on being the chosen provider for many 'career changers', and have trained the likes of builders, accountants, police officers, armed forces and many others without a 'therapy' or 'sport' background.
One question we are asked is: "Is this course the same as the BTEC Level 5 in Sports & Remedial Massage or Soft Tissue Therapy?" The answer to that is, "Whilst they are both at the same 'academic level', Soft Tissue Therapy/Sports/Remedial Massage, are just a small part of an AHG Sports Therapists toolbox." We differ in that we go far more in-depth with our Myofascial Release, Clinical Assessments, and Rehabilitation, plus we offer many other treatment modalities, such as strapping and taping, sports first aid, electrotherapy. We also include Sports Nutrition, which is a useful modality for Sports Therapists. For those new to the business, we also include a 'second to none' Business, Marketing and Social Media module.
Our students gain access to our Online Academy, where we have a whole host of courses and videos, access to which, you keep after you have graduated!
Our Level 5 course is the only one in the UK offered by a private training provider that is recognised for entry onto the CNHC Sports Therapy register. The CNHC is the Sports Therapy Regulator and Accredited Register.
