Linda McClure
Tutor and Assessor
Linda McClure is a Tutor and Assessor at Active Health Group with a background in clinical nutrition, complementary healthcare, and education. Her journey into nutritional therapy was shaped by her own health challenges, leading her to develop a strong interest in metabolic health, autoimmune conditions, and therapeutic nutrition. Known for her investigative approach to teaching, Linda supports students in understanding not just what to recommend, but why the body responds the way it does.
Background and Experience
Linda’s journey into health and nutrition began through personal experience. After facing significant health challenges that conventional approaches struggled to resolve, she began exploring nutritional therapy in greater depth. This experience became a turning point — not only in her personal health, but in the direction of her professional life.

With nearly two decades of experience in holistic health and complementary therapies, Linda developed a strong academic foundation, completing an HND in Complementary Therapy followed by a BA in Complementary Healthcare. Her studies included anatomy, pathology, research methods, and clinical practice, laying the groundwork for her later work in nutritional therapy.

Her professional interests became increasingly focused on metabolic health, gut function, hormonal balance, and autoimmune conditions — particularly complex cases where individuals had struggled to find answers through traditional routes.

A Journey of Reinvention and Professional Growth

Before moving fully into health and nutrition, Linda built a successful career in business and education. She spent more than 26 years working within the hairdressing industry, including managing salons in the UK and internationally, as well as running her own businesses. This experience developed strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills that later became invaluable in both teaching and clinical practice.

Alongside this work, Linda also gained teaching experience within further education, delivering courses in complementary therapies and related subjects at Ayrshire College between 2015 and 2022. Her teaching responsibilities included developing lesson plans, adapting content for diverse learners, and supporting students through their educational journeys.

This varied background — combining business, creativity, education, and health — shaped her practical and accessible approach to teaching.

Clinical Nutrition and Therapeutic Practice

Linda later completed a Level 6 Diploma in Health Coaching and Nutritional Therapy with Active Health Group, further strengthening her clinical knowledge and nutritional practice. Her professional focus includes therapeutic carbohydrate restriction approaches, ketogenic nutrition, and dietary strategies designed to support metabolic and cellular health.

She has undertaken additional specialist training, including certification as an Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) Coach and continued professional development in ketogenic science and diabetes reversal through recognised advanced training programmes.

Linda’s approach to nutrition is investigative and pattern-based. She encourages students and clients to look beyond isolated symptoms and consider how different systems interact within the body. Her philosophy centres on the belief that food can play a central role in recovery and long-term health when applied thoughtfully and responsibly.

Teaching, Assessment, and Supporting Learners

As a Tutor and Assessor at Active Health Group, Linda teaches clinical nutrition and supports students in developing deeper understanding of physiology, pathology, and nutritional application.
Her teaching style focuses on helping learners move beyond memorisation and develop genuine understanding. She encourages students to question assumptions, recognise patterns across body systems, and build confidence in their clinical reasoning.

Linda also plays an important role in assessment, helping students demonstrate their knowledge in structured and meaningful ways. Her approach to marking and feedback reflects both academic rigour and practical understanding, ensuring that learners are supported while maintaining high professional standards.

Students often value her ability to explain complex scientific concepts in ways that feel clear and approachable, helping them gain confidence in subjects that can initially feel overwhelming.

Creativity, Communication, and Supporting Practitioners

Alongside her work in nutrition and education, Linda brings strong creative and communication skills to her professional work. With a background in art and design, writing, and digital content creation, she has supported practitioners in developing their business presence and communicating their work more effectively.

She continues to run her own health and nutrition services, delivering coaching, educational programmes, and practical resources designed to support individuals and practitioners alike.
Her experience across multiple disciplines reflects a belief that learning and development should remain flexible, creative, and responsive to change.
