What Is Myofascial Release for Postural Integration?

Myofascial Release for Postural Integration is a hands-on approach to manual therapy that explores the relationship between fascia, posture, breathing and movement. Rather than treating a single site of pain in isolation, it works with the whole body, creating the conditions for the body to reorganise itself with greater ease and efficiency.

Every technique is taught in the context of the whole person. You'll learn how different regions influence one another, how the body adapts over time, and how restoring movement in one area can create change throughout the system. As your hands develop, so does your ability to observe, recognise patterns and make thoughtful clinical decisions based on what unfolds beneath them.

The approach suits practitioners from many backgrounds, including sports therapists, massage therapists, osteopaths, physiotherapists, chiropractors, movement practitioners and complementary healthcare professionals.

Your Qualification Pathway

The route to the Professional Diploma has four stages, moving from online study, through hands-on workshops, to a supervised clinical portfolio.

Stage One — Online Home Study

Work through the online video library and begin developing your understanding of Myofascial Release for Postural Integration. Take your time, practise the techniques, and return to the lessons whenever you need to. This stage lays the foundation for the practical classroom teaching that follows.

Stage Two — Practical Workshops

The practical training pathway consists of three workshops. Together they build confident palpation skills, sound body mechanics, treatment sequencing and clinical reasoning under direct tutor supervision.

Introduction to Myofascial Release for Postural Integration - 2 days - £175

Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy Masterclass - 1 day - £75

Advanced Myofascial Release Techniques - 4 days - £350

Entry requirement: Completion of both the Introduction and the Trigger Point Masterclass, or recognised Accredited Prior Learning (APL), is required before progressing to the Advanced Techniques programme.

As part of the Advanced Techniques programme, every student completes a three-hour supervised clinical case study in class. This gives you the chance to demonstrate safe, effective treatment and receive immediate tutor feedback before moving into independent practice. You'll also learn advanced techniques that aren't included in the online video library.

Stage Three — Clinical Portfolio

After the workshops, you'll build your clinical portfolio. To achieve the Diploma you'll complete:

  • Five clinical case studies

  • Five to ten treatment sessions with each client

  • A minimum of twenty-five hours of clinical treatment

  • Before and after photographic evidence

  • Clinical records

  • Reflective commentary demonstrating your clinical reasoning and progression

Detailed guidance, templates and submission instructions are provided in the Case Study Information section of the learning portal.

Stage Four — Diploma Award

Successful completion of the online home study, practical workshops and clinical portfolio leads to the award of the Professional Diploma in Myofascial Release for Postural Integration.

Diploma Fees

The full Diploma fee is £899.

Active Health Group Sports Therapy graduates who have already completed the Advanced Diploma in Sports Therapy, or Level 4 Sports Massage, will previously have attended the Introduction (2 days) and the Trigger Point Masterclass (1 day). You're welcome to attend these workshops again as a refresher. If you choose not to repeat them, your Diploma fee is automatically reduced:

  • £175 — Introduction to Myofascial Release for Postural Integration

  • £75 — Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy Masterclass

The reduced fee for eligible Active Health Group Sports Therapy graduates is £649.

Accredited Prior Learning (APL)

Practitioners with recognised previous training in manual therapy or a related discipline may be eligible for Accredited Prior Learning. Submit copies of your relevant certificates, qualifications and supporting evidence with your application. Following review, we'll advise you of the most appropriate entry point and any exemptions that may apply.

Looking Ahead: The Advanced Diploma

The Diploma is a foundation for continued professional development. Graduates are eligible to progress onto the Advanced Diploma in Myofascial Release for Postural Integration — Specialist Pathway in Restoring Thoracic Buoyancy.

This advanced programme presents an entirely new body of work, exploring the restoration of thoracic buoyancy and its influence on spinal architecture, breathing, movement and whole-body organisation.

If you completed the original 9-Day Myofascial Release Diploma and/or Vocal Massage Training with Christian between 2006 and 2026, you're warmly invited to join this specialist programme directly.

Meet Your Tutor — Christian Platts

Christian Platts has been in clinical practice since 2000 and has spent more than twenty years teaching Myofascial Release to practitioners across the UK and internationally. In that time he has trained thousands of practitioners from a wide range of professional backgrounds.

Everything he teaches has grown out of clinical practice, refined through observation, questioning assumptions and a continual search for a deeper understanding of how the body organises itself. Myofascial Release for Postural Integration emerged from that ongoing enquiry, and more than two decades of hands-on treatment, clinical supervision and teaching have continued to shape it.

Alongside his manual therapy work, Christian has trained in health coaching, emotional intelligence, breathwork, kinesiology, medical acupuncture, rehabilitation and trauma-informed practice. Each discipline adds another perspective on the relationship between structure, function and human experience.

“My aim is that you leave with more than a collection of techniques. I hope you leave seeing the body differently than when you arrived.”
