Trigger Point Therapy Course | One-Day Masterclass for Manual Therapists
Learn to locate, assess and treat the most clinically significant trigger points on this practical, fully supervised one-day trigger point therapy training course. Ideal for manual therapists, massage therapists, sports therapists and bodyworkers who want to reduce client pain, restore movement and integrate trigger point release into everyday practice.
Why Trigger Point Therapy Matters
Trigger points are among the most common contributors to musculoskeletal pain and movement restriction encountered in clinical practice. Left unaddressed, they can drive persistent pain, postural dysfunction and compensatory movement patterns that undermine other treatment work.
This practical one-day masterclass provides a clear understanding of how trigger points develop, why they persist and how they influence posture, movement and pain throughout the body. It is designed to give you confident, hands-on skills you can apply immediately with clients.
What You Will Learn
The day begins by exploring the physiology of trigger points, how they form within muscle tissue and fascia, and the relationship between trigger points, postural adaptation and compensatory movement patterns.
You will learn to recognise the characteristic referral patterns associated with active trigger points and understand how one trigger point may contribute to the development of satellite trigger points elsewhere in the body. This foundation in clinical reasoning underpins every treatment you deliver.
Practical, Supervised Hands-On Training
The remainder of the day is dedicated to practical application. Teaching focuses on the seven trigger points that we have found to be among the most clinically significant in everyday practice. These trigger points are frequently associated with persistent pain, restricted movement, postural dysfunction, compensatory patterns and both acute and chronic musculoskeletal presentations.
Working in pairs under continual supervision, you will develop confidence in locating, assessing and treating each trigger point safely and effectively.

Developing Precise Palpation Skills
Particular emphasis is placed on developing precise palpation skills. You will learn to confidently identify trigger points, monitor tissue response throughout treatment and adjust pressure according to the client’s comfort and clinical presentation.
What You Will Be Able to Do
By the end of the programme, you will be able to confidently assess and treat the seven principal trigger points, integrating trigger point therapy into existing treatments to help reduce pain, restore movement and support lasting functional change.
Applied with precision, sensitivity and sound clinical reasoning, trigger point therapy is one of the most effective manual therapy skills for helping clients reduce pain, improve function and support their ongoing journey towards comfortable movement.
